My time as an instructor of record at Georgia State University has afforded me the opportunity to teach Introduction to American Government (POLS 1101) on six different occasions to a variety of lecture sizes and environments. Given the ease of integration into Georgia State University’s online class platform, iCollege, and the quality of its material, I currently utilize Soomo Learning’s webtext, Central Ideas in American Government, for all of my 1101 class sections. My course is divided into three units of material: Foundations of American Government, Institutions of Government, and Political Behavior in America. Below are some of my sample course materials including syllabi, lecture slides from each of my three units, writing assignments, sample testing materials, some of my past in-class activities to promote student engagement and discussion.
